Meet Saige!!

I got an early birthday present! Yup! Meet Saige!!!! I love her so much, and she's such a cutie. She's very photogenic too! Here are some adorable pictures!

Right out of the box!

A cute close up. Look at those beautiful blue eyes!

A closer look at the back of Saige's meet hairstyle and how it is done.

Saige's adorable earrings that she comes with. They're so cute; and they are cactus flowers, which I think is her GOTY symbol.

Saige's adorable boots. I adore those cute little metal buckles.

A last picture of Saige. She is looking forward to hanging around on the blog!

Saige and Nicki's Adventure: Part 1 (A Collaboration between me and AG Photo Story Central)

One day, Saige and Nicki were bored. They decided to peek outside, and see if it was good weather.
"It looks like a pretty day for a walk," Saige said.
"Ok!" Nicki agreed.

Saige and Nicki began to walk down the pretty nature path.

"Hey, look Saige!" Nicki said.  "It's Cindy and Jess!"

Cindy and Jess had been sitting on a trail bench, so Saige and Nicki hopped up to join them.

Nicki wandered off, bored, but they didn't notice she was gone.
"We'll meet you down at that big tree in fifteen minutes" Jess said.
"Ok" Saige replied.

Cindy and Jess walked off towards the big tree.

"Looky, looky, look at me!" Nicki called.  When she had wandered off, Nicki had decided to climb a tree!

"Nicki, get down!" Saige exclaimed. "What are you doing?!"

"Oh, don't be such a fuss budget!" Nicki said with a giggle. "I know all about climbing trees",she continued, as she moved to a higher branch.

But Nicki lost her footing.
"Ahhhh!" she exclaimed as she lost her hold on the branch and began to tumble towards the ground.

Nicki landed with a thump i the ground. At first she didn't feel hurt at all, but then her ankle started to throb and feel funny.
"Nicki!" Saige exclaimed as she ran over to her.

"Are you ok?" Saige asked.
"Well, not exactly. My ankle feels kind of funny, like I sprained it or something."
"Oh no! Well, wait here. I'll go get Jess and Cindy and get you upstairs."

Saige dashed off towards the big tree, but Cindy and Jess weren't there. Then she looked at the stairs directly opposite, and there they were, standing there. Saige dashed over to them.
"Where were you?" Cindy began. "You didn't come, so we sat down to.."
"Nicki sprained her ankle!" Saige interrupted. "I'm sorry we took so long."
"Sprained? Her ankle?" Jess said unbelieving.
"Yes," Saige continued. "She fell out of a tree. Please go upstairs and fix her bed for her. I'll help her get upstairs."

Cindy and Jess nodded, and then began to sprint up the stairs. Meanwhile, Saige went back to help Nicki.

By the time Saige had helped Nicki upstairs, Cindy and Jess had Nicki's bed all ready for her. Nicki climbed in.

The other girls tried to make Nicki as comfy as possible. Cindy went to the bookcase to pick out some books for Nicki.

She picked out two of Nicki's favorites, Misty of Chincoteague and Little Women, and set them on Nicki's nightstand.

Jess brought out the laptop, and started a movie so Nicki wouldn't be bored.

And since everyone knows you can't watch a movie without something to eat, Saige brought Nicki a piece of peanut butter fudge.

So, Nicki is all set to heal her ankle.

You can see Jess and Cindy's view of this whole incident at AG Photo Story Central (http://agphotostorycentral.blogspot.com). Come back next week to see how Nicki gets all better.

Doll sized books: Craft post!

Hello, girls! This is Jan. In this post I'm going to show you how to make books for your dolls! :). They're really easy to make and take hardly any supplies. Lets get started.

What you'll need:
-a stapler
-a pen
-a stiff piece of paper (not construction paper, though. Here I'm using the back card from a pack of stamps my parents had, but card stock works well, too.)
-two pieces of thin paper
-a tape measure or ruler

The stiff paper (this will be the cover) should be 3 inches high and 4 inches long.  Measure 4 inches long with a ruler or tape measure.

Put a small pen mark where the four inches was.

Cut off the excess.

This si the approxiamate size your cover sould now be.

Carefully fold it exactly in half.

With your pen, you can now write the title of your book, the author (if you want) and decorate.  This is my cover.

Now its time to work on the pages.  Take one of those thin papers, and measure the same size as the cover.  (4 inches long and 3 inches high).  Make a pen mark, like before, and cut the pages the right size.  Then fold it exactly in half.

Draw 'neat scribbles' in lines on the pages.  I usually fit about five lines per page.

Then, on the inside pages,do the same thing.  And on the back page too.

So now we have a cover and one set of pages.

Make another set of pages exactly the same as the first.  This is what the inside of the pages should look like.

And the back.

So we now have a cover and two sets of pages.  Sorry for the upside down photo.

Put a set of pages inside the cover.

Then open the set of pages and set the second set of pages in it.

Now staple the book together.  But put the staple very close to the edge.   I usually hold the book together while stapling, but I had to take the picture.  :)

This is what the finished book should look like.

A propped up book.

For size: Here's Helen with her new book: A Little Princess.  I hope you liked this craft post!  :)   If any of you make a book, I'd love to see a photo!
